The Edgility team has been doing this work long enough to know when someone truly gets it.

Not just the mechanics of executive search: the discovery sessions, the sourcing, the interviewing, the assessments. We mean the deeper work. Understanding that every hire shapes culture. That building diverse teams is a choice. That the right leader in the right role can positively shift outcomes across entire communities. This is the work that powers Edgility Search and our team as a whole. So this month, we are especially thrilled to announce that Roslyn "Ros" Gowens has joined the team as a Search Consultant.

The Work That Shapes You

Like many recruiters on our team, Ros was called to do transformational work.

Growing up in Greenville, South Carolina, she worked alongside her mother, an advocate for survivors of intimate partner violence. "I saw how systems can protect or fail people, and how the right people in the right roles can change outcomes for entire communities. That early foundation taught me that advocacy and systems change require intentional, equity-centered leadership," she shares.

Following her mother’s path, she began her professional career in the nonprofit and violence prevention space as a court advocate and case manager for survivors of intimate partner violence, and later expanded her impact through organizational development consulting alongside her higher education leadership roles.

Every search is an opportunity to shape organizational culture, advance equity, and build systems that actually serve organizational goals and the people they serve with respect.

For Ros, this isn't philosophy. It's practice: "I believe the right leadership match can transform not just an organization, but the communities it serves. And that possibility, that potential for lasting impact, is what inspires me every single day."

Why Edgility

When we asked Ros what drew her to join our team, her answer was direct: "This team is led by women who are not just bosses but recruiters who live and breathe this work. The passion for partnering with clients and candidates is genuine and contagious."

She's right. We are who we say we are. And we do what we say we do.

What stood out to Ros (and what we hope stands out to our clients) is that we don't just talk about objectivity and rigorous assessments and respect for candidates. We design processes around those values. We ask hard questions. We challenge assumptions. We treat candidates as people first, not pipeline metrics. These choices set us apart, creating pathways for fantastic leaders to pair with wonderful organizations, where together they can make a real impact in their communities.

As Ros puts it: "Real change doesn't have to be loud or flashy. It shows up in the way a search unfolds, in the leader who gets a shot they wouldn't have gotten elsewhere, in the organization that finally finds someone who fits, not just on paper, but in practice."

The proof is in the leaders who stay and grow. Organizations that advance and become stronger. Trust that compounds over time.

A Reminder for Leaders

Ros wants board members and organizational leaders to know something important: You don't have to navigate leadership transitions alone.

Executive search isn't something you outsource because you can't handle it yourself. It's a partnership you engage in because you want to expand your reach, strengthen your process, and make a more equitable, thoughtful hire. As she puts it, "The right match is worth the patience and intentionality it takes to find them, and you don't have to figure it out alone."

The strongest outcomes come from organizations that stay engaged and trust the process. So, are you ready to get started? Reach out today to learn more about how we can support your next search!
